Grangers International chooses Markham Vale

Henry Boot Developments and Derbyshire County Council are set to welcome Grangers International to its flagship regeneration site Markham Vale.

The extensive new facilities will allow Grangers to consolidate existing operations, while also creating a significant number of jobs.

Henry Boot Developments and Derbyshire County Council have completed a deal with Grangers for a 43,000 sq ft unit, due to start on site in the coming months and complete before the end of the year.

Established in 1937, Grangers develops, manufactures and distributes protection and cleaning products for clothing and footwear. Its three brands Grangers, Cherry Blossom and Fabsil will all be manufactured from Markham Vale.

A purpose-built laboratory will allow the company to continue developing its products, while an on-site chemical blending room will see production batches manufactured prior to filling and dispatch. The unit, situated on a 2.8-acre site, will also include 6,000 sq ft of office space set over two storeys with capacity for future expansion.

Karolina Jones, General Manager at Grangers International, said: “The new unit at Markham Vale is a vital component of our growth strategy, providing the facilities and space we need to push the business forward. We deliver to over 50 different countries worldwide each year, so we will be looking to drive that number upwards, creating more jobs as we do so.

“We’ve no doubt that Henry Boot Developments and Derbyshire County Council will provide us with a high-quality facility that will serve us well, tailored to the needs of our business and operations.”

Vivienne Clements, director at Henry Boot Developments, said: “Grangers International is a successful, growing business with a proud manufacturing legacy in Derbyshire which is set to continue at Markham Vale. We look forward to working with Grangers as the new facility takes shape – I’m sure it will be a hugely successful location for the business as it continues to grow.”

Derbyshire County Council Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Regeneration Councillor Tony King said: “We’re delighted to announce that Grangers International will be joining our thriving Markham Vale flagship regeneration site bringing the potential for more jobs being created at the company in the future.

“The business has been successful in Derbyshire since 1990 and it’s fantastic to see that they’re now ready to expand and have chosen to stay in the county to grow their company.

“We look forward to following their progress as they make the Markham Vale their new home.”

Markham Vale saw a successful 2017, with more than 780,000 sq ft completing throughout the year. The development has 22 acres of land remaining, able to accommodate a range of units from 15,000 sq ft to 30,000 sq ft, while Markham Vale West has 15 acres remaining, with prime accommodation between 5,000 sq ft and 55,000 sq ft.
