Inspirepac secures new
100,000 sq ft premises at Markham Vale

UK leading packaging manufacturer, inspirepac, has agreed terms with Henry Boot Developments Limited (HBD) to secure a new 100,250 sq ft warehouse and office building at Markham Vale business and distribution park in Derbyshire.

inspirepac, which produces point of sale and packaging for well-known blue chip brands, intends to open a new business at Markham Vale in addition to the Group’s existing four sites in Chesterfield, Wetherby, Runcorn and Dronfield.

The new business will see inspirepac transform its £46m Group operation by investing £6m in state of the art high quality post print (HQPP) machinery and further digital capability, complementing its leading position in the high growth market sectors of retail ready and promotional packaging. The investment will have a planned start up by spring 2015 and will complement the machinery already in existence at the Wetherby and Chesterfield sites.

Chris Marples, CEO at inspirepac, commented:

“We are delighted to secure new premises at Markham Vale. This new site, combined with further planned investment in 2016, will enable the inspirepac Group to grow beyond £90m in the next five years, with the opportunity of creating up to 100 further jobs over this period.  Local investment and new jobs are essential for the region and we are pleased to be playing our part in helping the local community and give job security and longevity to our existing employees.”

Markham Vale is a 200 acre business/industrial park located at Junction 29A of the M1 in Chesterfield.  The regionally significant site is a joint venture between HBD and Derbyshire County Council and is one of the UK’s biggest Enterprise Zone developments.
Ben Ward at HBD commented:

“We are delighted to secure such a significant deal with inspirepac.  This is testament to the appeal of Markham Vale which continues to attract high performance brands because of its exceptional location right next to the M1 and also opportunities for high specification, purpose designed buildings that can facilitate next generation manufacturing and distribution techniques.”

Anne Western, Leader of Derbyshire County Council who introduced inspirepac to Markham Vale, said:

“Today’s announcement is great news for Markham Vale which is playing a key role in our plans to drive growth in Derbyshire by stimulating economic activity, helping businesses to thrive and creating up to 100 jobs for local people. inspirepac is a great ambassador for Derbyshire business. It’s embracing the latest technology to be a leader in its field and bring contracts from big name companies to Derbyshire. We’re delighted inspirepac has chosen Markham Vale as the home for its new premises taking the number of its sites in the county to three.”

James Newman, Chairman of the Sheffield City Region’s Local Economic Partnership, also commented:

“Our LEP has focused on building the UK’s number one Enterprise Zone for modern manufacturing and technology. We can offer investors outstanding transport connectivity, a highly-skilled talent pool and the best UK Government tax incentives available. The strategy is clearly paying off with world leading technology companies like inspirepac recognising that Sheffield City Region is the best place for them to thrive in a highly competitive global marketplace”.

Markham Vale offers a diverse range of industrial, warehouse and office accommodation ranging from 3,000 sq ft units to over 1 million sq ft.  Buildings are available on freehold or leasehold terms, to suit occupier requirements.  Existing occupiers include Andrew Page, Holdsworth Foods, Ready Egg Products, Gould Alloys and Industrial Ancillaries.

HBD has secured a 20 year lease agreement with inspirepac.  They will start construction of the building next month with completion forecast by spring 2015.
