Markham Vale North
infrastructure road commences
The construction of the new Seymour Link road that will open up the final phase of development land at Henry Boot Developments’ and Derbyshire County Council’s 200 acre industrial & logistics park, Markham Vale North, has now commenced.
The Seymour Link Road is due to complete during autumn 2016 and is a vital part of the infrastructure works to the North site, providing access to the motorway network via J29A of the M1 and opening up a further 70 acres of net development land.
Outline consent for the Markham Vale North site has been granted for a total of 1,416,000 sq.ft, with plots capable of accommodating units from 50,000 – 850,000 sq.ft.
Ben Ward, Director at Henry Boot Developments, commented:
“We have now started to see essential works commence on the new Seymour Link Road at Markham Vale North, opening up the service route to this part of the site, meaning the development of new schemes can commence in the summer of 2016.
We have already witnessed a high level of interest for the plots on the North site, offering 70 acres of space for units up to 850,000 sq.ft built on the success of phase 1 which is virtually complete with the delivery of Great Bear, Inspirepac and Gould Alloys new facilities during 2015/16.”
Leader of Derbyshire County Council, Anne Western said:
“This is a great start to the New Year for Markham Vale.
“Seymour Link Road will open up opportunities for more businesses to move to the site and has the potential to create more than 2,500 new jobs for local people and boost the Derbyshire economy.
“We look forward to welcoming even more new businesses to the site this year including Great Bear Distribution which is set to open in October and create a significant number of new jobs.”
Markham Vale is a joint venture between Henry Boot Developments and Derbyshire County Council.
